Ming It On

So a few weekends ago, we joined the expat concert band started by the old music teacher at our other campus (old as in "just left the position," not "gray haired").  Two rehearsals later, we had our first performance, billed as this Yao Ming, kids, basketball, fundraiser thing.  So on Saturday, we put our black and whites on and jumped in a cab for downtown.

Well, not exactly what we were expecting, especially since we were hoping for a picture with Yao. On the other hand, it was fun to play at a silly location.

See, we played at the famous Portman Ritz-Carlton Hotel, right next to Miu Miu and Hermes, with Dior banners hanging from the street lamps.

Kind of.

More like the taxi circle.

Closest to the street.

But hey!  We got free hot dogs and had a nice crowd all sorts of interested in us.

I got some pictures of Mark in the jazz band part of it.

See the people gathering on the left side?  That's where they/we played.  And it's really that curved, not that the iphone was changing it.

Missing y'all while making music,
Mark and Jessi

:o)
